Resources for Visiting Teams
Thank you for volunteering your time!
Accreditation is a voluntary, peer review process which engages thousands of professional educators in school visits each year. The members of NEASC Accreditation Visiting Teams are trained to function as “critical friends” who provide commendations and recommendations to assist an institution’s growth and improvement process.
We have provided some materials online to assist you in preparing to participate on a NEASC Accreditation Visiting Team, but do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions.
Prior to your scheduled visit, your Team Chair will contact you regarding the specifics of the visit and the information on how to access the school’s Self-Reflection through the NEASC Accreditation Portal. Additional information will be provided to you through the office of the NEASC Commission on Public Schools. Lodging, meals, and reimbursement for mileage will be paid for by the host school. All Visiting Team Members will receive a certificate of participation.

If you have not yet volunteered but are interested in serving on an Accreditation Visiting Team, NEASC is notified of prospective volunteers for public school Visiting Teams via the Annual Information Report (AIR). If you would like to participate on a Visiting Team, make sure to let your school head know that you would like to be added to the Visiting Team Volunteer List on the AIR.

Chair-specific information formerly stored on the website has been moved to another platform and you will receive instructions for accessing those resources from your NEASC staff contacts.
