NEASC Commission on International Education
The NEASC Commission on International Education*, one of three commissions within NEASC, accredits and supports a wide range of international and American schools – from primary through secondary school – both within the US and around the globe. Through the efforts of elected Commission members, professional and support staff, and hundreds of educators and administrators who volunteer their time to serve as professional peer reviewers each year, hundreds of schools around the globe are NEASC Accredited or Candidates for Accreditation.
*formerly called the Commission on American and International Schools Abroad (CAISA)
The NEASC accreditation process encourages school improvement through a process of continuous Self-Reflection and peer review. The award of NEASC accredited status indicates that the member school has achieved high standards of professional performance and is committed to continuing growth and development.
By partnering with schools around the world to promote transformative approaches to teaching and learning, initiate and engage in future-oriented forums, and expand pathways to accreditation, NEASC furthers its mission to ensure high quality, learner-centered education for all students and develop the understandings, aptitudes, dispositions, values, and competencies they need to become successful and responsible citizens of the world.

In 2016, the NEASC Commission on International Education* introduced ACE Learning, its groundbreaking accreditation protocol, which aims to transform rather than ‘improve’ schools and reshapes accreditation into an instrument to enable systemic change. [Learn more]
