2017 Charles W. Eliot Award

Michael Sandel is presented the Charles W. Eliot Award by Cameron Staples, President of NEASC on December 15, 2017.




Michael J. Sandel, Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Government, Harvard University, was presented with the Charles W. Eliot Award at the 132nd Annual Meeting and Conference of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in Boston on Thursday, December 14, 2017.

The Charles W. Eliot Award - named for the former president of Harvard University (serving from1869-1909) - was created in recognition and appreciation of the quiet contributions, the achievements both acclaimed and unknown, and the personal sacrifices made for the benefit of the public by the individual who is awarded the honor.

Following his keynote address, "Hard Questions, Big Ideas: Moral & Ethical Dilemmas in a Global World," given to a room filled to capacity, Mr. Sandel was presented the award by Cameron Staples, President of NEASC.
