As Associate Director, Fran helps guide member schools through the NEASC Accreditation process and serves as a partner in their ongoing school improvement.

Beginning his career as a certified library/media specialist serving libraries at elementary, middle, and high schools in Connecticut and Guam, Fran became the principal of Stafford High School in 1996 before assuming the same role at Berlin High School in 2011. He holds a master's degree and superintendent certificate from Central Connecticut State University and earned a Certificate in School Administration from the University of Connecticut. Over his distinguished career, he was Connecticut’s 2015 Principal of the Year, served as President of the Connecticut Association of Schools, and led his two high schools through renovate-as-new construction projects. Fran began volunteering at NEASC as a visiting team member and chair, was elected to the Commission on Public Schools, and served as chair of the Commission. In 2017, Fran joined the NEASC staff as Associate Director.

Fran believes that NEASC’s responsibility to public schools is ensuring that students equitably receive the finest opportunities available for their social-emotional well-being, life-long learning, and developmental needs through robust curricula and the promotion of internal and external services and resources.
