Our Approach

NEASC accreditation has a deep focus on  high-quality learning, impacts over outcomes/outputs, and creating future-focused schools.

All NEASC schools have agency and choice both in selecting their accreditation pathway, and within the accreditation process itself. Schools are given opportunities to choose key areas to prioritize in their accreditation, and the team provides focused, and actionable feedback on these areas. Each pathway combines both our understanding that each school is unique and should have agency in choosing its growth plans with the knowledge that external peer review can always surface things that a school may have not realized or seen.

NEASC provides a framework for schools to engage in purposeful self-reflection that seeks to authentically include all voices in the school community.

The self-reflection as well as the report feedback allow schools to develop clear plans to become stronger and more learner centered. Future-focused schools create future-ready learners.

Self-reflection followed by peer review and focused feedback, prepare a school to move forward, but the final piece of the puzzle is professional learning and a supportive network. Thousands of leaders and educators participate in NEASC professional learning opportunities each year including in-person conferences such as the Leadership Conference and Educator Showcases, workshops and trainings on a variety of topics relevant to schools’ priority areas, and webinars bringing educators together for discussion.

This global learning community serves as a place of deep connection and learning for leaders across New England and around the world. It is a priority of NEASC to provide resources and professional development aligned with the goals of our schools so the accreditation process can truly be a full cycle of school improvement, growth, and transformation.
