Each Commission is made up of a representative group of educators and related professionals that reflect NEASC’s diverse membership. Commission members meet several times a year to review accreditation reports and make recommendations and accreditation decisions. They provide input from their school-based experience into the revision of Standards for Accreditation, accreditation protocols, and resources. The Commission members also assist NEASC in discussing topics of relevance to current and future member schools.

Commission members serve for three-year terms (renewable once). Commission member perspectives are informed by their own experience and knowledge of education, as well as training in the NEASC accreditation process. They are bound by explicit ethical standards to prevent conflict of interest.
