Leadership transition: Independent Schools

It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Edie Traina as our incoming Director for the Commission on Independent Schools.

Following a rigorous and comprehensive search, the search committee unanimously selected Ms. Traina, Assistant Head of School for Faculty and Academics at The Taft School, as the leader to serve the needs of our diverse group of independent schools. She will join the NEASC team this August.

Edie brings to NEASC a wealth of experience in independent schools and boarding programs. As NEASC continues to grow and develop new approaches for member support and educational innovation, her strategic approach, depth of experience in organizational design, and proven track record in change management will greatly enhance our efforts. Beth Hamilton, who has provided valuable leadership as Interim Director, will guide a smooth transition by providing continuity to the Commission's leadership team and sustaining the progress achieved in professional development and the accreditation process during the past few years.
