Richard W. Schneider, President, Norwich University, VT, was presented with the Richard J. Bradley Award at the 132st Annual Meeting and Conference of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in Boston on Friday, December 15, 2017.

The Richard J. Bradley Endowment Fund Award, named for the longtime Executive Director of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), is presented annually to an active New England educator who has made significant contributions to the work and purpose of NEASC and whose exemplary work maintains and advocates high standards of excellence in education.

Having led Norwich University since 1992, President Schneider is recognized for overseeing a period of remarkable growth at the university, including the development of high-quality online Master’s programs. But it is his exemplary work as an Accreditation Team Chair for the NEASC Commission on Institutions of Higher Education that inspired his nomination for the Bradley Award. Evaluators serving on the teams he has chaired have been inspired by his extensive leadership experience, his high level of engagement and focus, his respect for his colleagues, and his dedication to maintaining the rigorous standards of the accreditation process.
